I don’t think Christmas could be any more exciting than from the perspective of a two and three-year old. Unless you are the parents of the two and three-year old. It is so much fun building up the holiday with bible stories of Christ’s birth, Christmas carols, egg nog, and of course Santa! Because we were leaving for Wisconsin on the 20th, Santa decided to surprise the boys a little early. One might say it Twas The 19th Before Christmas!
We were reading a story with the boys on our lap, and just began settling down for a long winter’s nap, when what in our wondering eyes should appear but Santa, absent of reindeer.
He came in like a giant, on his back a big pouch. then he said Hi to the boys and sat down on the couch. The boys were stunned, their eyes open wide, “Santa” they yelled, then Santa replied.
His voice was jolly but deep and low, and true to character he announced HO, HO, HO. Then he asked if for the year they have been good. Justice quickly answered,”no”, he misunderstood.
His eyes how they twinkled, his dimples how merry, he gave Justice a fire truck as red as a cherry! Archer came next not the least bit upset, to him was given a sesame street play set.
He listened to carols and then rose to his feet, The boys proudly gave him a beverage and cookies to eat. As quickly as he came he left in a fright, saying merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
