The end of July was marked with good fishing and great company. My brother Jason and his entire family were able to spend a wonderful week with us. This was the first trip to Alaska for Colleen and my nieces. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. It was so much fun watching the boys play with their cousins. Some evenings the four of them would put on a dance recital or a puppet show. It was awesome. We walked the beaches, hunted for wildlife, went camping, canoeing, geocaching, and hiking, and still managed to find some time for fishing. I think the memory of walking toward the Kenai river bluff and only 30 feet away a bald eagle carrying a salmon flew right in front of us. It was fantastic hosting them and we wish they could have stayed longer. Maybe next summer-two weeks?
