Grandpa and Grandma made there way back to Alaska and we were so excited to have them here for two full weeks. It is hard to see them leave, because we always have so much fun. We explored new places we have never been before, they spoiled the grandkids, played James’ favorite game Catan everynight, a girls only shopping trip, they spoiled us with a new grill and we always ate great home cooked food every night.
The first day they arrived and our friends called and invited us halibut fishing. I was able to find a friend to take the kids and it was perfect, we all went. The best part was that we came back with our limit! Hence, the great food, my mom and I were cooking up some halibut recipes to share with each other.
Our last night with them on the way home from the lake was memorable as we drove home that evening, the sky put on a show with a colorful sunset and the animals were out and about. I love porcupines and the boys saw there first. Then we saw about six moose and an eagle. Then as we took them to the airport we did one last drive to see caribou and then we said our goodbyes. We were sad on the way home and we were just barely out of Kenai when we see a couple cars pulled over. So we pull over, since we were in no rush and there in the ditch is a brown bear playing with the pastic marker sign. As we sat and watched, Mom and Dad’s plane flew over us and we were already wishing they were still here to share these special moments together. We miss and love you lots!!
